In 1992, Dr. Chanh Tran Tien returned to Vietnam, his country of origin, where he met the little Xuân. This chance meeting changed his life and led Dr Chanh Tran Tien on the path to create the Association Xuân, the Children of the Future.
Upon returning to France, Dr. Chanh Tran Tien began to gather support for his ideas. He wanted to create a humanitarian organization that would allow him to combine his passion for his country of origin with his desire to support its disadvantaged children. Dr. Chanh Tran Tien was successful in recruiting over 150 members and was able to raise sufficient funds to begin the first concrete project for Association Xuân.
In the summer of 1993, Dr Chanh Tran Tien and a group of young French people returned to Vietnam in search of their first project. Upon meeting Bo Ran (Uncle Ran) in Da Nang, and hearing about the dire need to provide services for the street children in this city, Dr. Chanh Tran Tien knew he had found his first worthy cause. Plans were made to begin building a house that would offer the street children of Da Nang a secure and safe place to live. Today, this house is known as Family 4.
Since then, Association Xuân has implemented a variety of educational and child-welfare projects throughout Vietnam, most notably in the 5 provinces of Da Nang, Can Tho , Phu Vang, Kon Tum and Nha Trang.
