Y Mary is the 6th child, born to a large family. She has more than 10 siblings. Her parents are farmers, who grow cassava but do not own any land. Despite their precarious situation, Y Mary’s parents encourage their children to go to school. They believe education is the key to greater opportunities for them.
Y Mary received her first scholarship when she was in primary school. She now attends high school. The dropout rate in Kon Tum region is high, and many students do not finish lower-secondary school. Not only does Y Mary plan to complete high school, she wants to attend university to become an English Teacher. She is an inspiration to all!
